Artist's Comments

Well, that was fun! I made this last night as preparation for the art battle. Two weeks to go! I might make another tonight, assuming I have time.

Sculpted on the fly with no preparation or sketching, just freestyle.

Materials: Paper clay (wire/aluminium foil armature), acrylic paint, hot glue

Background by wet-ground-stock: [link] [link]

Actual size: roughly 7" long.

The background isn't really part of the piece, but I felt compelled to give the poor thing a good home. Plus, compositing is fun. The uncomposited sculpt can be found here: [link]

Total sculpt time: three hours and change.

Yeah? Hot glue on copper wire. Tease w/heat gun. Paint isn't sticking to it very well but I make these things up as I go along. Thanks for the favorite!

You are welcome! A trick I discovered with hot-glue: Permanent markers (Red, Blue or combinations) create a transparent tint to the glue. For opaque color, solvent-based spraypaint is about the best solution I've found.=)
